The 1996 BYAFA Youth Kitted season saw a well-structured national competition divided into four regional divisions. Three teams — Lancashire Wolverines, Farnham Knights, and London Capitals — each completed perfect regular seasons, demonstrating dominance in their regions. The Birmingham Bulls also performed strongly, advancing from the Northern Division and making it to the semi-finals.
In the playoffs, the Farnham Knights proved their championship pedigree by edging past the previously unbeaten London Capitals in a tight semi-final, then shutting out the Wolverines in the final with a decisive 22–0 victory. The Farnham Knights claimed the national title, finishing the season unbeaten and unchallenged in the final.
