📋 Season Summary
The 1998 BYAFA Youth Kitted season featured a wide field of strong contenders across four competitive conferences. The Lancashire Wolverine Colts continued their dominance in the North, finishing with an unblemished record and an astonishing defensive record — conceding only 8 points in the regular season.
The London Capitals mirrored that dominance in the East, racking up 240 points while allowing only 14, including a 54–0 demolition of Doncaster in the quarter-finals. In the South, the PA (Farnham) Knights looked unstoppable, and the London O’s earned their playoff spot with a solid 4–2 finish.
In the West, the race was tighter. Bath Pulaski Rams and Southern Sundevils finished with identical records, with the Sundevils advancing to the playoffs on tiebreaks.
The semi-finals delivered excitement as Lancashire edged out London 24–20, and Farnham overcame the O’s to reach the championship game.
The Division One Final was a nail-biter. The Colts and Knights — both undefeated until that point — clashed in a closely fought battle. The Lancashire Wolverine Colts ultimately triumphed 14–12, securing the national title and capping off a perfect season.
