There was a period when the GB national team did not take part in any European Junior Championships. BAFA, the governing body, decided that the format was too dangerous for our players.
The game was initially sponsored by Sky Sports and a nice glass trophy (as seen in the photos below) ‘disappeared’ between the 2002 game and the 2003 game. In later years Wilson sponsored the game
